      Kathy is married to Steve Zeis, and they have a son Zack. She has been around Tennessee Walking Horses all her life and fell in love with their calm, affectionate temperaments and their smooth gaits. She wanted her son, Zack to experience the love of horses and began riding with him when he was a baby. Her interest in the Tennessee Walking Horse has had great influence over her life whether competing in the show ring, riding on the trails, doing equine research, or sitting in a cold barn waiting for the latest member of her TWH family. She has shown yearlings, halter horses, flat shod and performance horses. She is passionate about sharing and promoting the Tennessee Walking Horse. She has served on GWHEA for many years, currently as the State Horse Show Chairperson and Trail Horse Committee Chair. She has represented Georgia on the TWHBEA Board of Directors for 12 years serving on the Executive Committee six of those years. She has chaired the Owners’ and Exhibitors’ Committee and the Breeders’ Committee. She is a member of GWHLA, WHTA, WHOA, and has served on the Foundation Board since 1998, serving as Secretary, Treasurer and now as President. She holds a NHSC judge’s license and is a TWHBEA certified riding instructor. She would like to see the Foundation grow and become a driving force in promoting and preserving the Tennessee Walking Horse.
